This luminaire presents a striking visual contrast between the main fixture and the shade. The fibrous structure that constitutes the surrounding shade is made with impregnated fiberglass roving wrapped around a cylindrical drum.

The luminaire's shade was inspired by the complex beauty of silk webbing. The housing's form was derived from relative aspects of nature.
